Armenian Interest Group
Armenian is an ancient language hailing form the mysterious caucus mountain range and the ancient homeland of the garden of Eden. Armenian is an Indo-European language which occupies a language family of its own and has two standard dialects- Eastern and Western Armenian. However, due to Armenia’s position throughout history, Armenian has adopted many loan words from Persian, Arabic, Turkish, Greek, and Russian, which gives the Armenian an an especially eclectic sound. Armenian is spoken in Armenia and in the Armenian Diaspora by some 8 to 12 million people, and has an especially wide array of literature that is exhilarating to explore.! Knowledge of or interest in Armenian, like any other uncommon language, will add some exotic color to your list of accolades.
